White Paper on the probelms on air quality
A number of countries have realised the importance of quality air control and the problems related to air quality. Examples can be seen with
Madrid closing the access to 50% of all registerd cars to the city
London congestion charge
DEFRA air control
EPA air quality
Slovenia inspections at houses of heating emissions
Germany twice yearly control of chimeny cleaning
We will address this and a number of other areas in this White Paper
A renewable heat source should be carbon neutral. Renewable heat is an application of renewable energy and it refers to the renewable generation of heat, rather than electrical power. Renewable heat technologies include renewable biofuels, solar heating, geothermal heating, heat pumps and heat exchangers to recover lost heat. We agree that biomass for energy should not be unilaterally labelled as carbon neutral.
Carbon neutrality depends on how the stock of carbon in the forest is maintained. If the stock of wood (and therefore carbon) is reduced by using wood for energy, then there is net new carbon added to the atmosphere. However, this paper will show many heat sources are not renewable and which are. We will also demonstrate that if the stock of carbon in the forest is not reduced, then the combustion of wood for energy is carbon neutral.
